At the helm of Advance Care Training is a dedicated team of professionals with a wide range of experience in both health and social care settings.

Lisa Duff

Lisa has over 25 years’ experience working within the public and private sector. She is a registered nurse (Learning Disability) and has worked across a range of services supporting adults with learning disabilities in both clinical and managerial roles, including senior management positions. Lisa undertook her bachelor degree in health studies at Nottingham Trent university and has worked as a lead trainer for a large NHS organisation, gaining her assessor and verifier qualifications during this time. In 2005, Lisa achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for adult learners in the health and Social care sector. Lisa is a qualified First Aid trainer with St Johns Ambulance and has recently achieved her IOSH trainer’s certificate for moving and handling. Lisa has co-written Advance Care Training’s  Medicines Awareness training course which has gained accreditation from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and this course now forms part of the new person centred managing medicines competency Toolkit, written in partnership with OPTIMUM workforce.

Karen Martin

Karen has worked in the Health and Social care sector in a variety of settings including residential and supported living since 1986. She is a registered nurse (Learning Disability) and achieved her Certificate in Management studies in 1998 and her post Graduate diploma in Learning Disability studies in 2000. Karen has worked as a lead trainer utilising her skills and knowledge from the sector to deliver effective training particularly around working with individuals with varying and complex needs. Karen achieved her assessor and verifier awards and her Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2004. Karen is an IOSH accredited moving and handling trainer and helped to co-write the Medicines Awareness training course which has gained accreditation from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and this course now forms part of the new person centred managing medicines competency Toolkit, written in partnership with OPTIMUM workforce.

Sharon Johnson (Office manager)
Sharon has a wealth of experience working in administration spanning over 25 years. Her roles have included working in insurance for Prudential, office administration for BT and as a credit controller working in finance for a number of local and national firms. Sharon holds a BTEC level 2 Certificate in Child Care and NVQ Level 2 in customer services.
Sharon is responsible for all the administration within the company, booking of training courses and rooms, processing learner data as well as learner enrolments and certifications.
